Your
Vision Day Presenter, The Rev. Matt Kyddd
Matt was raised in the country outside
Peterborough, working on a farm. He played hockey, football, and
guitar. He went to the University of Toronto, studying medieval history
and performing as a folk singer. For his Masters in Medieval History,
he went to St. Andrews, Scotland.
In Canada, a year
as a security guard and blacksmith led to Wycliffe College and his
Master of Divinity. A year later he was ordained in the Diocese of
Ontario and moved to Brockville.
Currently he
serves in the Diocese of Ontario in the parishes of Oxford and
Merrickville. He follows the Islanders, the Maple Leafs, and the
Roughriders; and plays hockey as often as he can. He reads Dickens,
Dostoevsky, T.S. Eliot, and Canadian history. He is married (Sarah) and
has a cute little daughter (Charlotte) with another baby due in a few
months!
Matt is interested in fresh expressions of
church, and was a presenter for the Diocese of Ontario’s
FreshExpressions.ca Vision Day (in Kingston, March 14, 2009) which has
led to this Vision Day.
